Job PurposeThe Senior Analyst, Regulatory Initiatives is responsible for responding to rate case inquiries, including collecting information to support, discover, and prepare rate case documents, providing responses to data requests, drafting communications to inform the business of filing results, and providing data analysis used in preparing rate cases.
Key Accountabilitieso Conducts discovery to support rate case inquiry response documents.
o Provides rate case execution documentation to support Regulatory and the submittal of business plans to state and regulatory agencies.
o Provides analysis of trends for insight on rate case execution inquiries.
o Completes responses for data requests by incorporating jurisdiction viewpoint.
o Responsible for gaining approval on rate case drafts and rework.
o Maintains quality control for responses to ensure credible information.
o Ensures timely and credible document responses for regulators.
o Monitors response rate for rate case activities to identify issues and communicate.
o Evaluates rate case executions to measure key performance indicators (KPIs).
o Responsible for supporting financial and non-financial controls to meet business requirements.
Qualificationso Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 3 years' experience in Accounting, Finance, Business, or Regulatory roles, with increasing responsibilityo Strong planning, organizational, and project management skills, with good attention to detailso US GAAP, IFRS, SOX and SEC regulations knowledgeo Accounting and financial close process knowledgeo Reconciliation and governance experienceo Financial systems (SAP) knowledgeo Risk mitigationo Data collection, data analytics, and reporting skillso Translating accounting conclusions to business outcomeso Utility accounting and finance experienceo Knowledge of regulatory requirements and complianceo Rate case execution experienceo Experience managing competing priorities while maintaining compliance with rate case related deadlineso Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively when the situation warrantso Process and financial control implementation and monitoringo CPA or equivalent international accounting license (or license candidate) a pluso Technologically savvy, and proficient with visualization tools (e.
